Marcel, a Golden Retriever from Tralee has been announced as overall winner of The Golden Paw Hero Dog Awards 2022 at a glittering awards ceremony in The Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport today. The awards, organised by The Irish Kennel Club and sponsored by PetInsure.ie, celebrate the club’s centenary year and aim to find, recognise and reward Ireland’s most courageous, brave and life changing canines.

The Irish Kennel Club have shared some touching stories from recent nominations to The Golden Paw Hero Dog Awards 2022 sponsored by PetInsure.ie. The awards aim to find, recognise and reward Ireland’s most courageous, brave and life changing canines and also celebrates The Kennel Clubs centenary year having been founded in 1922. 



The Strip and Dip started nine years ago after Deirdre Featherstone was undergoing treatment for breast cancer and had a brainwave after her mastectomy to do something fun – and raise money for childhood cancer! The event itself has grown from 80 women in Year 1, to 2,500 women in Year 6 – a huge achievement.   And of course achieving Status twice in the Guinness Book of World Records ( 2018 and 2021 for The Online Dip Challenge) as well as raising over €500,000 in 2018 as was a major achievement, as well as “ a bit of choral singing” aka the Sea of Change Choir who appeared we in the finals of Ireland’s Got Talent , in Brussels for World Cancer and received a standing ovation in the plenary room and also asked to represent Ireland as part of the WHO Worldwide Conference on Cervical Cancer last year.




Alive Outside, the outdoor adventure company, based in the magical setting of Killruddery Estate in Bray, Co. Wicklow are holding ‘One Day Camps’ for kids aged 7-13 years old. The camps take place each Saturday & Sunday throughout August. Children attend the camp for 6 hours in total and take part in three fun outdoor activities lasting 2 hours each while making new friends and learning new skills.
