County Colours to Collide at First Ever Tag Rugby County Championships – UCD Saturday 9th August – Press Welcome!
Ireland’s proud county colours will clash in spectacular style as players from across the country and beyond take to the pitch for the inaugural Tag Rugby County Championships on Saturday 9 August at UCD Sports Campus, Dublin.
Teams representing Kildare, Mayo, Galway, Waterford, Limerick, Sligo, Kerry, Cork, Wicklow, Meath, Clare, Wexford, Tipperary, South Dublin and North Dublin will battle it out for county bragging rights.
Organised by the Irish Tag Rugby Association, this thrilling new event will see fifteen county teams line out in custom-designed kits created by kit partner, Oztag Equipment Supplies. Each design draws inspiration from traditional county colours, reimagined with a bold tag rugby twist to celebrate community pride and sporting spirit.
This landmark tournament promises to unite players from Ireland and beyond, giving them the chance to proudly represent either their county of birth or the county they feel the strongest connection to.
The atmosphere is set to be electric, with families, supporters and fans expected to fill the sidelines. The Irish Tag Rugby Association warmly invites local media and press photographers to join us on the day to capture the colour, energy and county rivalry as it unfolds. Fixtures will run from morning until late afternoon, offering plenty of opportunities for interviews, photography and live coverage.
