Wicklow Firefighters to go Head to Head for Childhood Cancer – Wicklow Head to Bray Head Challenge – Sunday 24th August

On Sunday 24 August, Wicklow Firefighters and their colleagues from across the emergency services will go Head to Head for Childhood Cancer, taking on a challenging 36km walk from Wicklow Head to Bray Head in aid of Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, Ireland’s National Children’s Cancer Charity.

Aoibheann’s Pink Tie has been a lifeline for families navigating childhood cancer, offering practical and emotional support at every stage of the journey. From covering the cost of accommodation near hospitals to providing care packs and support, the charity ensures no family feels alone when facing the unimaginable.

The inaugural Head to Head Challenge invites the public to walk in solidarity with children across Ireland who are undergoing treatment and help raise vital funds for the families behind every diagnosis.

Walk with Us: You do not have to walk the full 36km! Feel free to join us for as much or as little of the route as you like. Every step makes a difference.

This is a challenge for everyone - walkers, supporters, friends, families and even your four-legged friends! Starting at Wicklow Head and finishing at Bray Head, the walk will pass through key points along the route with pitstops planned at various public locations where participants can join in at any stage.

The walk will finish with a family fun afternoon at Bray Bandstand, complete with entertainment and activities for all ages.
