Experience the city’s world-famous Christmas markets while Marty broadcasts live from Vienna on Wednesday 3rd December 2025.

Set along the beautiful Danube, Vienna is a city of elegance, history and world-class culture. From grand palaces and historic streets to charming cafés and festive markets, the city captures the spirit of old-world Europe like no other. For centuries, Vienna has been at the centre of the musical world. It was home to legendary composers such as Schubert, Strauss, Schoenberg and Berg, while Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Brahms and Mahler chose to live and create here. Today, Vienna remains a pilgrimage site for music lovers across the globe.

2025 marks the 200th birthday of The Waltz King, Johann Strauss II. With Vienna as the world capital of music, this year offers a unique opportunity to honour his legacy in the city that inspired him.

Marty’s itinerary includes:

A visit to the world-famous Musikverein An experience at the Vienna Volksoper, one of the city’s premier opera houses A tour of the House of Music Schönbrunn Palace and its enchanting Christmas markets A taste of Vienna’s café culture, including Sacher Torte at the Sacher Hotel, Café Landtmann, and Schwarzen Kameel A visit to the Central Cemetery, one of the largest in the world, where the graves of Brahms, Schubert, Beethoven, Falco, and Johann Strauss II can be found The highlight: The House of Strauss and an exclusive interview with Professor Eduard Strauss, great-grandson of Johann Strauss
