Science in the Wild: Alive Outside Adds New STEM Element to Easter Camps for 2026

Alive Outside is adding a fresh twist to its popular Easter Camps for 2026, introducing hands-on STEM discovery sessions alongside the outdoor adventure experiences families already know and love at Killruddery Estate. Known as the home of Hell & Back Junior, Ireland’s leading outdoor adventure centre continues to evolve its camp programmes, weaving more skills-based learning into its action-packed experiences.

Designed for children aged 7 to 13, the camps run for five days in Week 1 or four days in Week 2 and new for 2026, one day camps over the Easter break. Each six-hour day is carefully structured and led by expert Instructors, with Alive Outside campers taking part in three immersive activity blocks a day, ensuring plenty of variety, movement and laughter from morning drop off to pick up time.

New for 2026, a dedicated Creative Hub introduces STEM in a way that feels more like adventure than classroom learning. Through Easter treasure maps, themed scavenger hunts, simple engineering builds and spring-inspired experiments, children develop problem-solving skills naturally while staying active and engaged outdoors. The STEM element has been co-created with expert consultant Mireia Lopez to ensure activities are age-appropriate, hands-on and genuinely fun.

Beyond this, the focus remains firmly on action, nature and exploration.

Outdoor exploration with navigation, nature awareness and animal tracking Learn the ancient art of atlatl throwing, knot tying and shelter building Confidence-building obstacle challenges inspired by Hell & Back Junior High-energy games such as Laser Tag and Capture the Flag Team missions and problem-solving challenges The Alive Outside Olympics, a fun, non-competitive mix of sports and games where campers get to try their hand at activities all focused on participation, teamwork and enjoyment

With small groups, dedicated Instructors and clear health and safety procedures, Alive Outside Easter Camps offer a safe, supportive environment where children can make friends, learn new skills, try new challenges and build confidence. Every camper finishes the week with a strong sense of achievement and receives a Certificate of Achievement to mark their adventure.

Fresh air, freedom and just the right amount of curiosity-driven learning, Alive Outside’s Easter Camps promise an experience that is active, social and packed with memorable moments.

Places disappear quicker than chocolate on Easter morning, so families are encouraged to hop to it! Secure your spot today!
