Pure Pharmacy launches Franchise Operation with first shop in Portlaoise and opens 2 new Shops in Ireland this week - Swords and Drogheda!
A Great News Story! PURE Pharmacy to launch franchise operation and 2 more new shops to their ever expanding pharmacy portfolio!
PURE Pharmacy, the 100% Irish pharmacy group, with pharmacies in Dublin, Wicklow, Drogheda, Tipperary and Galway, has announced the launch of franchise operations with their first franchise in Portlaoise to open shortly. Pure welcome Breslins Pure Pharmacy to its network and to its Pure team. It is also delighted to announce the opening of 2 more Pure stores, one on Swords Main Street and the other on Drogheda’s Shop Street.
Pure Pharmacy has successfully disrupted the pharmacy model in Ireland by reducing their margins passing on real savings to their customers yet delivering a true community service with their teams which has been particularly relevant during this pandemic.
In business since 2011, PURE Pharmacy dispenses all forms of prescriptions: private prescriptions, medical card prescriptions, long-term illness books, high-tech prescriptions, hospital emergencies. They cover all schemes available in other pharmacies; the only difference is the price, as the products sold throughout pharmacies in Ireland is generally the same.
Pure Pharmacy has steamed ahead during the pandemic due to the dynamism of their team headed by owner and MD, David Beggs, and have now extended their portfolio to 20 stores nationwide.
According to David Beggs they sought to “disrupt the Irish pharmacy model and offer customers the same product for a reduced price. We offer low cost prescription rates combined with community focused local services as was evidenced over the pandemic.”
He continued “I think Irish people are only now realising that they have a choice and can shop around when it comes to pharmacies and the prices they pay for their medications. Before, there was a ‘one size fits all’ attitude to pharmacies with a belief that prices differed only slightly locally. Now, our customers realise that they can save up to 60% simply by switching pharmacy. Value for money is now a key deciding factor for Irish people, across all household expenditure. “
This approach is clearly extremely popular with customers and PURE Pharmacy as a company has gone from strength to strength, even during these most difficult and unsure times for businesses.
He continued “our business slogan is that old adage ‘Come for the Value and Stay for the Service’ and our customers – in our growing business – now know this to be true. Our Franchise model will, we believe, grow as well in the same vein, as we develop our relationships with our new franchisee network, because local relationships will be key.
Our first Franchise is in Portlaoise – Breslins Pure Pharmacy in Parkside Shopping Centre. Our plans are to have a network of franchised Pure Pharmacies in Ireland by 2022, when we expect our turnover to grow by up to 20%. Franchise will grow for a number of reasons – it is about succession planning, consolidation trends within the industry in Ireland , and also about better combined group purchasing power. So expect ongoing news from Pure over the next 18 months!
