New Outdoor Adventure and Sports Camp Launches in Dublin 7 Offering A Screen-Free Summer for City Kids

Alive Outside brings its confidence-building, adventure-led camps to Grangegorman for the first time with limited places now open for booking.
Dublin City parents are being offered a new way to keep children active, social and off screens this summer as Ireland’s leading adventure specialists, Alive Outside, launches its first ever city centre camp at TUD Grangegorman.
Swapping Screens for Fresh Air
Well known for its outdoor adventure camps in Bray and Rathgar, Alive Outside is expanding into Dublin 7 for the first time, bringing its popular mix of sport, teamwork and creative challenges to a new audience of families in Stoneybatter, Phibsborough, Smithfield, Cabra and beyond.
Designed by the experts behind HELL & BACK Junior for children aged 7 to 13, the week-long camp includes high-energy activities, problem-solving and team-based challenges creating an environment where children build confidence, make new friends and stay fully engaged from start to finish.
At a time when many parents are looking to reduce screen time and encourage more active play, the programme offers a structured, supervised alternative that keeps children moving, thinking and socialising (in real life) throughout the day.
STEM, But Not as You Know It!
Adding to its appeal is Alive Outside’s new adventure-led STEM element for 2026, where children build practical thinking skills through hands-on missions and challenges rather than traditional classroom learning. Concepts from science, technology and engineering are seamlessly woven into activities, creating an experience that feels natural, active and genuinely fun.
A major camp highlight is a Day Trip to Alive Outside HQ in Bray - the home of Hell & Back Junior and Ireland’s Fittest Family. Children get the chance to experience the setting behind these well-known challenges, taking on obstacle courses, team missions and large-scale outdoor games. For many, it’s the standout moment of the week.
The new Grangegorman location combines spacious outdoor areas with indoor facilities ensuring activities can run regardless of weather, while also providing a convenient option for city-based families who want to avoid long commutes to camps further afield.
With limited places available for its first summer in Dublin 7, early booking is strongly encouraged particularly for children hoping to attend with friends.
Alive Outside Summer Camp at TUD Grangegorman runs from Monday 17th to Friday 21st August.
