Coolakay House and Heritage Centre reopens today 7th July inviting visitors to come and experience summertime on the farm, located beside the iconic Wicklow Way walking trail and Powerscourt Waterfall.
Coolakay House
Coolakay House is run by Yvonne and Robert Roe and incorporates a beautiful Bed and Breakfast, with 14 rooms, located on a working farm, with stunning gardens and a museum focusing on the evolution of Irish agricultural life from the early 18th century up to the present day. The house was even featured on Daniel & Majella O’Donnell’s B&B Roadtrip 2015. Coolakay House is Failte Ireland approved and winner of B&B Ireland and Waterford Crystal’s ‘Best Leinster B&B 2012'. Coolakay House is registered for the Failte Ireland Covid-19 Safety Charter.
Coolakay Agricultural Heritage Centre
Located just outside the quaint village of Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow, Coolakay Heritage Centre is encouraging visitors to make a day of it this summer! Immerse yourself in farm life past and present with a visit to the museum where you can see everything from a pony and trap, Deutz and Ferguson Tractors to milk churns. Some of the tractors on display have earned owner/historian Robert Roe awards in shows for best restored tractors. The hand-threshing mill on display is one of only 3 in Ireland and dates back to the mid 1800s. Robert offers guided tours for 8 people or more on request, giving guests real life stories of the items on display.
During your visit why not take a stroll around the farm walking trail offering stunning views of Powerscourt Waterfall and the Wicklow Mountains.
