Aoibheann’s Pink Tie Launches Festive Fundraiser for Children with Cancer This December!

Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, Ireland’s Children’s Cancer Charity, is calling on schools, businesses and communities across Ireland to take part in their nationwide Christmas Jumper Day initiative this December.

The campaign invites you to swap your everyday uniform or workwear for Christmas jumpers, Santy hats or festive accessories for one day in December while raising vital funds for children and families affected by childhood cancer.

Aoibheann’s Pink Tie provides practical and financial support to families throughout Ireland whose children are undergoing cancer treatment. The charity receives no government funding and relies entirely on fundraising and donations to continue its work.

Families travelling to Dublin for childhood cancer treatment are facing a severe shortage of affordable accommodation near hospitals, placing extra pressure on them at the most difficult time in their lives. Aoibheann’s Pink Tie helps ease this burden by providing a welcoming home away from home close to Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin, giving families a place to stay together and rest without the added worry of accommodation costs.

To launch the campaign, Aoibheann’s Pink Tie has released a heartwarming video created with pupils from Scoil Áine Naofa in Lucan, Dublin, perfectly capturing the spirit of the campaign and the importance of community support at Christmas. Watch Here!

Taking part is easy. Choose a date in December for your Christmas Jumper Day, encourage everyone to wear something festive and invite voluntary donations on the day. The result is a fun and colourful celebration that also helps make a real difference for families facing the strain of childhood cancer.

To support participants, Aoibheann’s Pink Tie provides a downloadable poster, a sample letter or email for parents or employees and optional social media graphics. Schools, businesses and community groups can also set up a personalised online iDonate fundraising page in just a few minutes, complete with a unique QR code for easy donating. Cash donations can of course also be collected on the day.
